Following many spirituality classes, at the Monastery of the Risen Christ, under Brother (now Father) Steve Coffey, O.S.B., he began teaching us Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer, and the Welcoming Prayer.
Lectio Divina (Sacred Reading) is a slow attentive and prayerful reading of Scripture while listening in order for the reader to encounter the Living Word of God. This ancient Christian practice has four primary movements: Lectio (Reading), Meditatio (Meditation), Oratio (Prayer), and Contemplatio (Contemplation).
