Last night, 10/04/2010, was our class graduation at the Monastery of the Risen Christ. For the event all of the students were asked to provide their conclusions on Ilia Delio's book, Christ in Evolution. The conclusions were celebrated during the liturgy of the Word, as part of Father Steve Coffey's Homily. My contribution was an updated Creed.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of the evolutionary universe. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day, he arose as the Risen Christ, ascended to the Father, and became the Cosmic Christ, the center of the universe. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the breath of life, who transforms the human heart into hearts of love of God and love of neighbor. I believe in the power of contemplation, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we radiate spiritual energy, and assist the Cosmos to move into the future.

Believe it or not, I googled Creed+Benedictine to argue a point with a friend. My position was not necessarily in favor of organized religion of any kind. I was expecting to read the standard party line, instead I discovered The Creed for the Third Millennium.
Your words struck me with an overwhelming sense of hope, and for that I wish to say simply, thank you.
